About Me

Welcome,

I’m Ana.

I started this blog as a creative outlet, if you will, outside my previous professional writing experience.

In June 2018, I left my full-time position as a reporter at The Argus-Press. Deep down, I knew it was a time for me to break up with journalism, even though it had long been, and well still technically is, my passion. But, truth be told, I was becoming burned out and longed to be living and working closer to home so I made the transition to the corporate world in November of that year. I accepted a position as an Operations Associate at Jackson National

Prior moving back to Michigan, I worked as a reporter at The Chronicle-Tribune in Marion, Indiana from June 2016 until January 2017.

I currently work as an appraisal specialist at First National Bank of America. (June 2021)

I attended Central Michigan University from 2009-2014, where I earned a bachelor of science degree in news-editorial journalism. During my time at CMU, I worked as a reporter for Central Michigan Life and as a writer for Grand Central Magazine. I was also a member of the Beta Phi chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon, where I served as the public relations chair in fall 2012.

During the summer prior to graduating in August, I worked as an intern at WLNS-TV in Lansing, Michigan where I learned the ropes of how a TV newsroom operates. I also worked as a reporting intern at HOMTV in Okemos, Michigan from January 2016-May 2016 where I gained additional hands-on experience in broadcast reporting and how to effectively use social media.

On my blog, you’ll find reviews of books, TV shows and movies; lists; my stories about moving; and relationship/heartbreak experiences and advice; among other miscellaneous topics.

If you have a blog, follow me and I’ll be sure to follow you back.
